Wear this color at the job interview, get the job
Studies have found that those who wear this color look trustworthy! Ensures good job interviews and guarantees the job
When we enter unfamiliar environments, the first thing that draws attention is our clothes. Although this situation is denied, it can lead to the formation of various prejudices. For this reason, it is necessary to pay attention to the clothes that should be worn when going to important meetings and interviews. What to wear in a job interview? If you think that, you can choose colors that will make you look reliable.
Although trust is built over time, it can be difficult to change the first emotions we see. It is also important how you dress, as well as how you behave in situations such as job interviews, meeting your lover’s family. “The color of our clothes acts as a signal to others; it tells them who we are,” says one fashion company. “Our brains depend on sensory triggers, along with emotions. Some triggers trigger happiness, some trigger sadness,” explains fashion expert Susan Gagnon. “Thus, different colors get different emotional responses from us, such as trust.”
BLUE AND PURPLE ARE THE MOST RELIABLE COLORS SELECTED
Researchers from Soochow University in China recently investigated the effect of clothing colors on perceptions of trust. Researchers recruited 32 participants and rated their confidence in a digital figure wearing the same suit photoshopped in different colors such as red, yellow, green, blue, purple, orange, yellow-green, blue-green, and blue-violet. According to the study, the blue-violet color was seen as the most reliable after blue. “Those who wear blue and purple clothing get higher confidence ratings,” the researchers wrote.
CREATES POSITIVE ASSOCIATIONS
Color expert David Lee says colors like blue and purple can cause other people to see us as more trustworthy because they have “positive associations” with these hues. For example, the color blue is often associated with the sky, which is “calm and serene” according to Gagnon. “So when people see others wearing blue, their brains associate it with the calmness of the sky,” he says.
WE CHOOSE COLORS THAT MATCH OUR PERSONALITY
According to Lee, traits such as calmness and serenity can enhance the security people feel in others. “This helps build trust and builds credibility,” he explains. Of course, you can choose to wear blue on important occasions such as a job interview. But your natural attraction to certain colors actually says a lot about who you are. “The colors you choose to wear represent your tendencies,” says Gagnon. “We unconsciously choose colors that match our personality.”
GREEN ASSOCIATION WITH ENVIRONMENT AND ENVIRONMENT
The IJERT study also identified the color of clothing that received the lowest confidence rating: green. According to Gagnon, this hue is “usually associated with motivated and ambitious people.” While that sounds like a good thing, it doesn’t always create the best foundation for trust. As Lee points out, the color green is also often linked to more overt negative traits such as deception and greed. Fashion expert Jessica Kats reiterates that the shade of green is associated with jealousy and envy. “People see it as an unreliable color in many cultures and traditions,” she explains.
